Happy hump day, everybody!
I totally intended to make a vlog for today’s #BlogtemberChallenge prompt. Really! I had yesterday planned out down to the minute. I was going to leave the office at 5 p.m. on the dot, take the train home to Brooklyn, grab some takeout, make a vlog, and be back in the city in time for my friend Kelli’s 8 p.m. volleyball game. Totally doable and not crazy at all, right?!
But then… the work day ended just as the sun came out from behind the clouds for the first time all day. My friend Amanda said she was free for dinner before the game. So instead of being squished on the A train at rush hour come 5:15, I found myself sitting in the park with a book. Instead of rushing through a vlog that probably would have been terrible anyway, I took a stroll up Fifth Avenue. And instead of mediocre takeout, I had a burger and sweet potato fries with my sweet friend.
By the time we met up with more girlfriends for the volleyball game (which Kelli’s team WON!), I was feeling full. Full of love and joy and laughter. Sometimes it’s important to take a step back and remember that there’s more to life than blogging (and work). Savor everything!
So – no vlog today. Instead you get a very refreshed and relaxed blogger (even though she got up at 5:30 today to watch the Mindy Project season premier – WORTH IT). To make up for it, here’s a picture from the game last night:
Don’t worry, tomorrow’s post on my favorite topic – travel – is already drafted and scheduled, so if today’s game plan of heading straight home and writing all night gets derailed by sunshine and friendship, we’ll still be on track!
Tell me, how are you this fine Wednesday?
great decision you made there! sunshine, girlfriends & fun for the win. I support you!

Those photos convinced me! Sounds like a delightful night, and really where’s the fun in blogging if you can’t break the rules once and a while?

Sounds like an awesome evening! Who knows, maybe you’ll be inclined to make a vlog some other day. I usually end up doing it about twice a year…
