I miss you guys! I wanted to share a glimpse of what I’ve been up to this week and what’s in store for October. I’ll probably do something like this on a fairly regular basis. You can see my first currently post here!
Reading: Delicious! by Ruth Reichl, on my mother’s recommendation, and Let’s All Be Brave by Annie F. Downs for my church community group.
Wearing: Black jeans, long-sleeved striped t-shirt, boots – the fall version of my standard look! I also have my fake leather jacket on hand for chilly mornings and evenings.
Buying: I’m still on the hunt for a winter coat, but I did buy a pair of Old Navy’s ankle pixie pants this week. Unfortunately, one of the seams is already coming undone so they will likely be returned and the search will start over.
Listening to: I’ve had Gloriana’s How Far Do You Wanna Go? on repeat all day.
Eating: Cantaloupe slices and a cheese stick as a mid-morning snack.
Drinking: Coffee. All the coffee. So much coffee.
Watching: Since it’s Friday, and basically all of my shows are on Thursdays, I am behind on EVERYTHING. As soon as I have a spare moment (so basically, next week) I’ll be settling in for Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, Grey’s Anatomy, and Parenthood. Likely in that order.
Planning: My mom and her friend are in town this weekend, but it’s a very low-key visit and very little planning is required on my part. Yippee! I think tonight we’re heading to Times Square (eek) and my mom’s favorite restaurant, Serafina.
Excited for: Remember the other day when I said October would be relaxing, quiet, and so on? HAH! About 30 minutes after hitting publish on that post, I got an invite to a friend’s birthday at the end of the month – and a message from another friend (one I visited in Toronto over Labor Day) who is coming into town for the party! So I’ll be playing hostess yet again and spending quality time with some of my favorites. Way better than a month of nonstop Netflix!
Enjoying: FALL! OK, I’m still hardcore dreading winter. But fall doesn’t seem to be so bad. The changing leaves make me very very happy and it’s not too cold outside. Yet. When the sun is shining. Sigh.
Working on: I have so many blog post ideas for you guys, I just need to find the time to write them! I’m about halfway through a post on bravery that I’m hoping will become a series, and I still need to share gems from my recent trips to Toronto and Dallas. Soon! I promise!
Laughing over: Guys, it’s October third. Mean Girls day. If you don’t get the reference, I command you to turn off your computer and commence watching the greatest movie of our generation. “On October 3, he asked me what day it was.” “It’s October 3.” Oh, Lindsay Lohan. You used to be so great.
What have you been up to lately?
Happy Mean Girls Day! I’m glad you’ll be back at least for little visits to blogland! Black jeans and boots are my fall uniform this year- and I too am dreading when the prettiness of fall gives way to the dreariness of winter! Hopefully we will get a LONG fall this year!
